WHAT IS PADEL?

Padel tennis is a racquet sport that originated in Mexico in the 1960s and quickly gained popularity in Spain, where it is now one of the most popular sports. The game is also known as paddle tennis or padel in Spanish-speaking countries.

Padel tennis is played on a court that is enclosed by glass or wire mesh walls, similar to a squash court. The court is about a third the size of a tennis court, and the game is typically played in doubles.

The racquets used in padel tennis are solid, with a shorter handle than a tennis racquet, and are perforated to reduce air resistance. The balls used are also like tennis balls but with a lower bounce.

Padel tennis is a fast-paced, exciting sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. The game is played with a lot of strategies and requires both physical and mental agility.

The walls and net are used in play, and the ball can be played off them in a similar manner to squash.
